Dear ShareWell community,
Many of you have shared questions about the updates to our membership plans. I wanted to speak directly about what’s changing and why.
These decisions were not made lightly. ShareWell exists because this community cares deeply about supporting one another, and we approached these changes with that responsibility in mind.
Why we made this change
As a mission-driven company, ShareWell has always had two goals:
- Support as many people as possible.
- Ensure the platform remains sustainable so it can continue serving people for years to come.
Every group that runs on ShareWell carries real costs — infrastructure, platform development, safety systems, and the team supporting the community. As our community expands, those responsibilities expand with it.
We ultimately have to balance two priorities: maintaining open access to support while ensuring the platform can continue serving the community sustainably.
That’s why ShareWell will continue offering a free membership while introducing new membership options for peers who want to participate more frequently.
Weekly peer support remains free
ShareWell will offer four free support groups each month, allowing members to participate in weekly peer support at no cost.
For most members, this will feel very similar to how they already use the platform. The majority of people attend about one group per week or less.
Members who want to participate more frequently can join a membership plan.
Our memberships
For members who want more support, we’ve introduced membership plans that provide additional access to groups and workshops.
For example, our Core Plan includes up to 16 support groups each month, along with two workshops, for $29 per month. If someone attends all the included groups, that comes to under $2 per session.
These memberships help sustain the platform and make it possible for ShareWell to continue offering free groups to the broader community.
Hosting remains free and open to everyone
Hosting peer support groups on ShareWell continues to be free.
Hosts are the heart of this community. Anyone who feels called to share their lived experience and support others can still create and lead groups on the platform.
We’ve also heard questions about how the new membership structure affects hosts who volunteer their time.
As ShareWell continues to grow, we’re exploring ways to better recognize and support hosts. We’re actively collecting feedback and rethinking what host perks and benefits could look like moving forward, with the goal of designing something that is genuinely helpful and valued by the community.
We expect to share more about those updates in the coming months.
Continuing the conversation
Community feedback plays an important role in how ShareWell evolves.
I’ll be hosting a community town hall soon to walk through these updates and answer questions directly, and we’ll share details shortly.
In the meantime, if you have questions about your account or membership, our support team is available at support@sharewellnow.com.
A personal note
I started ShareWell after leaving an emotionally abusive relationship. During that time, peer support was one of the most powerful forces in my healing.
Being able to speak with people who truly understood my experience changed my life.
ShareWell was created to make a home for that kind of support.
Every step we take as a company is guided by that same belief: that people who have lived through something can help others through it.
Thank you for being part of this community.
